He was predeceased by: his parents, George Meier and Katherine Meier (Wagner); his siblings, Merlin Meier, Algean Wright (Bill) and Floyd Meier (Mary); and his brother-in-law Alfread Vozenilek.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Vozenilek; his children, Joe Meier (Karla) of Maquoketa, Sheila Yeager (Gary) of Hibbing, Roger Meier of Bellevue and Randy Meier (Stacie) of Maquoketa; his sister-in-law Mary Jane Frey of Durant; his grandchildren, TJ Volquardsen (Alicia), Ashley Rambousek (Joey), Corey Meier, Amanda Peterson (Jens), Vanessa Yeager, Morgan Richards (Ryland), Colin Meier (Bridget) and Ian Meier; and his great grandchildren, Ayden, Colton and Theo.
