He was predeceased by: his parents, Clara Heiar (Yoeger) and Nick Heiar; his sister Verna Mae Ernst; his daughter Lavonne Walgamuth; his grandchildren, Justin and Ann Heiar; and his brother Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Kilburg; his children, Dave (Jane), Roger (Lou Ann), Rick (Lin Manders), Mark (Lori) and Mary Jo Gerardy (Randy); his son-in-law Denny Walgamuth (Linda); and his sisters-in-law, Lucille Bormann, Berniece Bormann, Mildred Haxmeier, Marci Roling, Jean Hoffmann and Velma Kilburg. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
