He was predeceased by: his parents, Leopold Halter and Matilda Halter (Bach); his wife Cora Bovee; his siblings, Louis, Harold, Wilbur, Robert and Lucille; and his son-in-law Ken Mills.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Halter (Diane) of Baxter and Marlene Mills of Ankeny; his grandchildren, Jason Robinson (Jenny), Cory Robinson (Jennifer), Rachel Port (Casey), Sara Warnick (Mike) and Bryce Halter (Jill); his sister Shirley Brown of Newton; his sisters-in-law, Helen Halter, Ruth Beach and Ethel Stiles; his great grandchildren, Landon, Cade, Alec, Lawson, Aleah, Ashton, Quinn, Dane, Trey, Owen and Nolan; his stepgranddaughters, Kendra Arnold (Justin) and Karla Lint (Jason); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Frank, Saylor and Gage Lint. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
