It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carol Jontz of Baxter, Iowa, born in Marshalltown, Iowa, who passed away on January 3, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Tommy Johnston and Margaret Johnston (Orr); her brothers, Wendell Johnston and Tom Johnston; and her in-laws, Max and Frances Jontz.

She is survived by: her husband Dennis Jontz of Baxter, IA; her children, Mark (Mitzi) of Pella, IA, Jolene Krohn (Merle) of Ft. Collins, CO, Tom Jontz (Lisa) of Baxter, IA and Rachel Hitcher (Brad) of Baxter, IA; her grandsons, Joe Clanin of Ames, IA, Will and Max Hitchler of Baxter, IA; her sister Janice Lynch (Dennis) of Ft. Collins, CO; and her sisters-in-law, Maurene Johnston of Wahoo, NE and Nancy Johnston.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Baxter Athletic Boosters in her memory.
