She was predeceased by: her parents, Anna Lena Kennaley (Schimmer) and Thomas Kennaley; her husband Freddie Grell of Patrick's Catholic Church; her son Jerry Grell; and her siblings, Bob, Pat, Shirley and Laura.
She is survived by: her children, Diane "Dolly" Varner (Dan) of Sioux City, IA, Tom Grell (Melissa) of Goliad, TX, Anne Carlson of Mapleton, IA and Jamey Grell (Anna) of Danbury, IA; and her grandchildren, Angie Watkins (Neal) of Ida Grove, IA, Nate, Nick, Noel Varner, Randy Grell, Jason Carlson, Amanda Hoffman, Emily, Lydia and Andrew Grell. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church-Danbury (604 Peach St, Danbury, IA 51019). A rosary was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. A vigil service was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 6:45 PM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church of Danbury, Iowa (604 Peach St, Danbury, IA 51019). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church-Danbury (604 Peach St, Danbury, IA 51019).
