He was predeceased by: his parents, John Modrell and Lucille Modrell (Wolcott); and his grandson Tyler Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Marian Modrell of Battle Creek, IA; his children, John Modrell (Julie) of Holstein, IA, James Modrell (Stacey) of Moville, IA and Joyce Johnson (David) of Dumfries, VA; his grandchildren, Madison, Trinity of Wasilla, AK and Amy Stensland (Chad); his great grandchildren, Zoe, Piper of Sioux Falls, SD and Michael Modrell (Katie); his granddaughter-in-law Dr. Andrea Michaelsen (Johnson); his sister Dolores Modrell of Battle Creek, IA; his sister-in-law Elaine Holdren (Jack) of Omaha, NE; and also, Wyatt, Emmett, Warren of Washta, IA, Erica Paul (Matthew), Olivia, Alexa Modrell of Omaha, NE, Dr. Jace Modrell of Coralville, IA and Aidan Johnson of Jefferson, IA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
