He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Thomas and Edith Hargesheimer Thomas; his brother Bob Thomas; and his sister-in-law Jean. He is survived by: his child Caboose; his wife Nina Thomas of Batavia; and his children, Phil Thomas (Debra) of Vinton, IA, Teresa Hollingsworth (Jim) of Marion and Mark Thomas of Batavia, IA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren.
