He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford "Checker" Davis and Elsie Davis (Moore); his wife Diana Crago; his son William "Bill" Davis; and his siblings, Ruby Williams (Lyle) and Delmer Davis (Letha Mae).

He is survived by: his friend Church "Granddads Church"; his pet Sadie; his children, Michael Davis (Cindy) of Tucson, AZ, Tina Jaegers (David) of Ottumwa and Melissa Fenton (Bryan) of Montezuma; his daughter-in-law Juanita Davis of Oskaloosa; and his grandchildren, Nicolas Jaegers (Sarah), Cassaundra Burke (Travis), Maria Dunham (Ryan), Heather Fenton, Bryanna Walters (Kevin), Kristen Cardoso (Johnny), Coretha Fenton, William Davis and Benjamin Davis. He is also survived by his 10 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
