Joe Grife Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joe Grife of Barnes City, Iowa, who passed away on April 13, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Grife and Margaret Grife (Kirkpatrick); his wife Donna Doll; and his sisters, Lilly Schultz (Ned), Helen Penland (Larry) and Norma Martin.
He is survived by: his former wives, Betty Linfor and Virginia "Dutch" Evans; his pet Mule Fest; his sons, Mike Grife (Sherry) of Barnes City and John Grife of Scranton; his brothers, Jack Grife (Kathy) of Montezuma and Larry Wayne Grife of Bridgeport, Oregon; his friend Janice Vine of Barnes City; and his brother-in-law Jim Martin of Oregon.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home (308 W Maple St, New Sharon, IA 50207). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Joe's Residence (2846 105th St, Barnes City, IA 50027).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Barnes City Fire Department or the Fuller-Sarvis American Legion Post 507 of Barnes City.
