With heavy hearts, we announce the death of William Joseph Dudding of Bancroft, Iowa, who passed away on December 2, 2021 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, McClellan Dudding and Oda Dudding (Menke); his sister-in-law Sherry Dudding; his close friend Sherry Dudding; his siblings, Don, Kenneth, Jack (Phyllis), Dick Dudding and Marge Williams (Don); his brother-in-law Jack Schiltz; and his nephews, Scott Kuchenreuther Dudding and Mark Dudding.

He is survived by: his former wife Lois Franke; his sons, Kurt Franke (Karla) of St. Cloud and Keith (Diane) of Edwardsville, Illinois; his grandsons, Wesley, Erik, Grant Franke and Devon Dudding; his nieces, Pam Brainerd (Denny), Vicki Dausel (Byron), Teri Brock (Bruce) and Cindy Bloomquist (Terry); and also Patricia Schiltz of Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Most sorry to hear of Billy's passing. While not a resident of Bancroft, my father's family hails from there, and still visits there quite regularly. Billy was always good company on these visits, with his store of local anecdotes and knowledge of Bancroft baseball in particular. Billy even recorded a song he composed ('Watching the World Go By') with certain members of my family, and inspired another ('Swede Hollow') based on his early childhood memories. We will miss him. Mike McNertney”
