He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Deitering and Agnes Deitering (Kollasch); his parent-in-law Adria Menke; his sister Donna Olson; his brothers-in-law, Lamont Jansen, Rich Olson, Gail Person, Tom "Doc" Lensing and Duane McCleish; his nephew David Person; and his niece Becky Reilly.
He is survived by: his wife Jan Deitering (Menke) of Bancroft; his children, Keith Deitering (Sara) of Spirit Lake, Jennifer Mann (Brad) of Clive and Alan Deitering (Echo) of Bancroft; his grandchildren, Kayla Richard (Alex) of Sioux Falls, SD, Zachary Deitering of Iowa City, Andrew Deitering of Spirit Lake, Emily Mann of Des Moines, Adam Mann of Clive, Libby Mann of Clive, Aidan Deitering of Bancroft, Alec Deitering of Bancroft and Asher Deitering of Bancroft; his great grandchildren, Raeya and Leta Richard of Sioux Falls, SD.; his siblings, Tom Deitering (Esther) of Bancroft, Darlene Jansen of Bancroft and Janet Person of Durango, CO; and his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Lensing of Algona, Alice Hansen of Schaumburg, IL and Kay McCleish of Streamwood, IL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Richard Deitering Memorial fund which will be directed to organizations and charities Dick was passionate about.
