Roy Schultz Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy Schultz in Avoca, Iowa, who passed away on December 18, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his wife Jan Thorson; and his sisters, Bernice Lee and Dorothy Carroll. He is survived by : his children, Dr. Gary Schultz (Taylor) of Avoca, Iowa, Kathy Schultz of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Kent Schultz (LaVerne) of Plano, Texas; his grandchildren, Dagny, Henry, Mary, Anne, Grace, Reed and Emily; his great grandchild Thomas; and his close friend Beverly Schroder. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, other family and many friends.

“Roy began me as an Iowa hunter safety instructor with him in 1969 in his basement. He has been a good friend since then. He thought enough of my family to come to my wife's memorial at Peace church in Walnut in April. I will be out of state for his funeral but his 3 children-Kathy ,Gary and kent have my heartfelt memories and feelings. Bill Hardisty”
