He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Kenkel and Katherine Kenkel (Kobold); his wife Dorothy Frederick; his grandson Rob Kenkel; and his siblings, Irene Corn, Jeanette Bowen, Don and Charlie Kenkel.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Kenkel (Charlene) of Toledo, Iowa and Judy Hoff (Sam) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his grandchildren, Sarah Kenkel of Toledo, Derek Johnk of Iowa City and Rachel Johnk of Lincoln, Nebraska; his great grandchildren, Allie Sjullie of Cedar Rapids, Charlie Johnk of Iowa City and Ellis Leuenberger of Lincoln, Nebraska; and his brothers, Urban and Dean Kenkel.
