He was predeceased by: his parents, Lola Lorene Carroll and Walter Nelsen; and his siblings, Janiece Ronnfelt (Harold) and Wayne Nelsen (Virginia). He is survived by: his uncle Henry Nelsen; his children, Marcia Shavlik (David) of Omaha, NE, Carrie Kern (Roger) of Aurora, CO, Angela McGinnis, Walt Nelsen (Melissa) of Troy, MO, Rachel Block of Avoca and Sarah Hampton of Ankeny, IA.; his brother Vaughn Nelsen (Janette) of Omaha, NE; his grandchildren, Drake Nelsen (Chelsea), Dayton Nelsen, Devin Nelsen (Emily), Dakota, McKinleigh, Dallen, Myah Asia-Rea, Melia Reyna-Gay, Madelynn Nelsen, Emily Parker (Jeffrey), Elizabeth Shavlik, Jennifer Cuypers (Chris), Liam, Caroline McGinnis, Colton Block, Broderick and Lila Hampton; and his great grandchildren, Ella, Walter and Henry Nelsen. He is also survived by six children, 17 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
