It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Thraen (Avoca, Iowa), born in Breda, Iowa, who passed away on July 20, 2020, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Koster and Loretta Koster (Woerdehoff); her brother Robert Koster; her siblings-in-law, Emelie Koster, Charlie Leuck, Howard Thraen and Roy Goraczkowski; and her daughter-in-law Sonja Thraen.
She is survived by: her daughter Joyce; her grandson Marvin; her husband Marvin Thraen of Harlan, Iowa; her children, Pamela Clark (William), Michael Thraen (Laura), Denise Lickteig (Scott), James Thraen (Ella Malone) and Patty Branning (Brent); her grandchildren, Robert (David Clark), Maxine (Henry Lickteig), Joseph (Jacob Thraen) and Sarah (Ryan Branning); her siblings, Madonna Goraczkowski of Omaha, Nebraska, Yvonne Klein (Sylvan) of Harlan, Betty Leuck of Harlan, Kenneth Koster (Judy) of Reddington Beach, Florida and Dean Koster (Kathy) of Harlan; and her parents-in-law, Carole Thraen of Harlan, Kenneth Thraen (Donna) of Henderson, Nevada and Gary Thraen (Julie) of Harlan. She is also survived by nieces and nephews; other family members and many friends.
