He is survived by: his wife Joyce Mez of Avoca, Iowa; his children, Jay Mez of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Joel Mez (Kim) of Las Vegas, Nevada and Joy Ludvigsen (Jon) of Fremont, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Joseph, Christine Mez, Rachel, Megan, Gavin Mez, Hope and Holly Ludvigsen; his sister Janet Johnson of Seattle, Washington; his nephew Derek Johnson (Cary Chavis) of Washington, DC; and his stepsisters, Lavonne Gerlt of Omaha, Nebraska, Sally Millsapps of Colorado and Dora Rock of Avoca, Iowa. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
