He is survived by: his former wife Barbara Palermo; his wife Sandra Hummel of Avoca, Iowa; his family Schafkopf; his sons, John (Maria Carroll) of Hasbrouck Heights and Patrick Carroll (Phillip Terronez) of Des Moines, Iowa; his granddaughters, Monica, Violet and Esther Carroll; and his sister Wilma "Jeanie" Klindt of Atlantic, Iowa.
