He was predeceased by: his parents, August Reinig and Mary Reinig (Kenkel); and his siblings, Rita Ohlinger, Bob Reinig, Joe Reinig, Therese Krupicka, Mary Slaven, Catherine Schomers, Fritz Reinig, Rose Mary Reinig, Don Reinig and Augustine Reinig.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa Caffrey (late James) of Omaha, NE, Patricia Koffron (Paul) of Tiffin, IA, Thomas Reinig (Denise) of Portsmouth, IA, Karen Bexten (Jerry) of Omaha, NE and Janet Reinig (Jody Ruckman) of Omaha, NE; and his siblings, Tony Reinig of Harlan, IA and Cecilia Tunnell of California. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Due to Covid restrictions and concerns, a private funeral mass will be held with only children and grandchildren present.
In lieu of flowers family suggests memorial be made to Portsmouth American Legion.
