We are sad to announce that on July 17, 2020, at the age of 73, Lila Ilene Opitz of Aurora, Iowa, born in Oelwein, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wayne Fear and Mildred Fear (Nading) of Lamont, Iowa.; her grandson Beckett Opitz; her father-in-law Leo Opitz; and her sister-in-law Lois Duwe.
She is survived by: her husband Lee Opitz of Aurora; her son Matthew Opitz (Elizabeth) of Aurora; her granddaughters, Jordan, Millie and Rigley Opitz; her siblings, Den Fear (Kay) of Monticello, Bret Fear of Dubuque and Nancy Trowbridge (Jerry) of Rickardsville; her siblings-in-law, Linda Steffen of Independence, Lana Moeller (Mark) of Strawberry Point, Lonnie Opitz (Bonnie) of Aurora, Larry Opitz of Arlington and John Duwe of Guttenberg; her mother-in-law Betty Opitz of Lamont; and her sons, Zachary Sansom of Washington, D. C. and Ben Davis of Largo, Florida. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lila I. Opitz, 73, of Aurora, Iowa fought a courageous battle with Alzheimer's, and lost the battle on July 17, 2020 at MercyOne Senior Care, Oelwein.
