He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Schwanz and Bessie Schwanz (Welding); his daughter Brenda Matsen (Schwanz); his siblings, LeRoy (Pearl Schwanz) and Betty; and also, Edwin, Louise Schwanz, Clarence, Irene Schwanz, Lester, Sally, Carl Lamuck, Harry, Mildred Schwanz, Paul, Marie Schwanz, Dorothy and Donald Detterman.
He is survived by: his wife Lila Grienke; his children, Brian (Colleen Schwanz) of Alta and Rhonda (Tony Coombs) of Aurelia; his son-in-law Jess Matsen of SanTan Valley, AZ; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Chad Curtis) of Arlington Heights, IL, Ashley (CJ OBrion) of Chandler, AZ and Miranda (Chris Sliefert) of Sac City, IA; his great grandchildren, Spencer, Lauren Curtis, Taylor, Avery OBrion, Jaxsen and Bryson Sliefert; and his siblings-in-law, JoAnn Lichter of Omaha, NE and Robert (Jo Grienke) of Alta. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
