He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Sorensen and Audrey Sorensen (Koehler); and his children, Robert L. "Bobby" Sorensen, Jr. and Deborah. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Beckner; his sister Donna Reed; his children, Rick Sorensen of Sioux City, IA, Ron (Clyde), Rhonda (Doyle Cowell) of Dickens, IA, Roxy (Joe Rose) of Redwood Falls, MN and Ranae Steuk of Spencer, IA; and his stepchildren, Jim (Amy Nilles) of Merrill, IA, Dale (Jan Nilles) of Las Vegas, NV, Becky Nilles of Springdale, AK and Ray Nilles of Cherokee, IA.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, fifteen step-grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, one sister.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
