He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joens and Elna Joens (Groteluschen); his wife Donna Joens; his son Keith Joens; and his brother Orland (Barbara Joens).
He is survived by: his daughter Kathleen Carlton (Frank Whobrey) of Schererville, Indiana; his grandchildren, Carrie Joens of Hahira, Georgia and Christopher (Jing Joens) of Fort Worth, Texas; and his great grandchildren, Evan, Emilie of Hahira, Georgia, Kalelle, Bradley and Aaron of Fort Worth. He is also survived by nieces, nephew other relatives and friends.
