In loving memory of Joan Bauer of Audubon, Iowa, born in Denison, Iowa, who departed this world on November 5, 2024 at the age of 66. Joan leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Zimmer and Betty Zimmer (Koenck); her siblings, Karen Reisz, Susan Reising and Keith Zimmer; her brothers-in-law, Neil Reising and Robert Reisz; her in-laws, Victor and Vesper Bauer; and her niece Cathy Szynskie.
She is survived by: her husband Brent Bauer of Ann's Catholic Church; her children, Andrea, Carrie and Alex; her siblings, Francis Zimmer (Vicki), Charlie Zimmer (Pat), Dale Zimmer (Judy), Donna Gallas (Roger) and Janie Siegner (Joe); her aunt Mary Lou Koenck; her uncle Duane Zimmer; and her in-laws, Nancy Johnson (Lester), Ted Bauer (Donna), Terry Bauer (Crystal), Brenda Boynton (Robert) and Michael Bauer (Carrie).
A rosary was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 4:45 PM to 5:00 PM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home - Audubon (515 S Division St, Audubon, IA 50025). Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St Patrick's Catholic Church (116 E Division St, Audubon, IA 50025). A committal service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Maple Grove Cemetery. A reception was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 12:15 PM to 2:00 PM at the St Patrick Parish Center (102 Market St, Audubon, IA 50025).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Audubon County Relay for Life and can be sent in care of Schmidt Family Funeral Home P.O Box 201, Audubon, Iowa 50025.
