He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Ellefson and Eleanor Ellefson (Herbert); his close friend Marge Christensen; his brothers, Alvin, Douglas, Gerald and George; and his brother-in-law Ernest Ruiz.
He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer Kjar (Aaron) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his grandchildren, Cole (Madi), Ethan and Megan Kjar; his former wife Jane Austin; his siblings, Ruth Jones (Jim), Bernice Ruiz and Ralph Ellefson (Nancy); and his sisters-in-law, June Hunter and Lavon Ellefson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
