It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene C. Borkowski of Audubon, Iowa, who passed away on October 6, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl L. Borkowski and Lucy Borkowski (Gawley); his daughter Sheryl Hopkins; and his granddaughter Jennifer Wulf. He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Borkowski of Irwin; his children, Kevin Borkowski (Connie) of Harlan, David Borkowski (Pamela) of Irwin, Steven Borkowski (Holly) of Manilla and Susan Thraen (Brian Yoch) of Mesa, AZ; his son-in-law Norm Hopkins of Colfax; his grandchildren, Byron Borkowski, Jocelyn Squatrito, Brian Borkowski, Lauren Botine, Collin Borkowski, Lucy Borkowski, Sara Thraen, Jessica Thraen, Jacob Thraen, Lucas Hopkins, Jessie Hopkins and Samantha Hopkins; his great grandchildren, Serifina Squatrito, Grant Squatrito, Kayden Erwin, Emma Erwin, Nash Hopkins, Sawyer Hopkins and Jennifer Lusk; and his siblings, Vernon Borkowski (Leota) of Coon Rapids, MN and Sharon (Dean Axland) of Ames. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
