He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Nelson and Edna Nelson (Jensen); his wife Isabelle Alverta; his daughter Pauline Ann; his siblings, Lloyd Nelson, Merle Nelson, Grace Paulson, Ruth Dinesen and Lucille Paulsen; and his siblings-in-law, Ivan Paulson, Philip Paulson, Earl Paulson, Henry Paulsen, Martin Dinesen, Charlie Swansen, Ares Dinesen, Elvira Paulson, Lois Paulson, Marie Paulson, Mabel Paulson, Helen Nelson, Elaine Nelson and Ethel Nelson.
He is survived by: his children, Rodney Allyn (Marie Nelson) of Waterford, Virginia, Pamela Sue (Bob Hamburger) of Omaha, Nebraska and Calvin Lynn (Paula Nelson) of Madrid, Iowa; his grandchildren, Cyndi (Travis Ruebelmann), Simon (Mari Nelson), Ryan (Linda Nelson), Angela (Seth Peterson), Garin (Molly Hamburger), Adam Nelson, Cassie (Dustin Wright) and Ben Nelson; and his great grandchildren, Jana Peterson, Gage Peterson, Ava Isabelle Peterson, Everett Nelson, Madison Nelson, Isa Ruebelmann, Brody Wright, Jacen Nelson, Kinley Wright, Rose Ruebelmann, Lilly Hamburger, Mercedes Nelson, Fynley Hamburger, James Nelson and Ben Goedharts. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
