He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward John Wiederstein and Ramona Madeline Wiederstein (Lansman); and his father-in-law Ron Rasmussen. He is survived by: his wife Nicki; his daughter Anne Schinbeckler (Jared); his grandchildren, Landen, Joslyn and Alyssa; his son Ryan (Reyna); his grandchild Charlie; his son David (Andrea); his grandchildren, Claire, Lila, Dane and Marlow; his daughters, Betsy Reelitz (Tom) and Rae (Ed's); his brother Arlen; and his mother-in-law Kathy Rasmussen.

Memorials may be designated to the Iowa FFA Foundation or the Nathaniel Hamlin Park in honor of Ed's name.
