She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Byrd and Norma Helena Ruhs (Christensen); her husband Robert Rugaard; her granddaughter Morgan Borkowski; her brothers-in-law, Richard Jensen, Jack Boyd, Emmert Hansen and Regin Rugaard; and her parents-in-law, Thomas and Elbertha Rugaard.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin (Risa Rugaard) of Audubon, Mary Jo (Terrill Burger) of Hamlin, Iowa, Tom Rugaard of Parachute and Dan Rugaard of Hamlin, Iowa; her grandchildren, Justin (Mercedes Rugaard) of Orange City, Shelbie (Brandon Akers) of Exira, Cole Mennenoh of Ames, Wade (Bre Mennenoh) of Ross, Jeffery Holbrook of Grand Junction, Jeremy Rugaard of Parachute, Jackson Rugaard of Parachute, Clayton Rugaard of Hamlin, Carter Rugaard of Hamlin, Whitney Munch (Ryan Stone) of McKinney, Westly Borkowski of Hamlin, Iowa, Layne Borkowski of Hamlin, Iowa, Karli Burger of Hamlin, Iowa, Kadi Burger of Hamlin, Iowa and Loreli Burger of Hamlin, Iowa; her great grandchildren, Zachary Clark, Caden Akers, Evan Akers, Greysen Akers, Axlie Akers and Haisley Mennenoh; her siblings, Carol (Richard Lenning) of Blue Springs, Robert (Judy Ruhs) of Audubon, Rev.
