He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Sorensen and Helen Sorensen (Bladt); his brother Elvin Sorensen; his parents-in-law, Arnold and Therma Madsen; his siblings-in-law, Alice Schaffer and Darrell Taylor; and his close friend Jeff Jensen.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Sorensen of Audubon; his children, Larry Sorensen (Vicky) of Exira, IA, Carrie Andersen (Terry) of Earlham, IA and Nadine Buffaloe (Bob) of Blair, NE; his grandchildren, Chris Sorensen (Alyse Wisdom), Nick Sorensen (Anna), Heather Davidson (Joe), Justin Andersen (Steph), Abby Hassett (Alex), Joni Kappes (Josh), Amy Kautzky (Paul), Ryan Venteicher (Lindsey), Tina Humlicek (James), Chad Jensen (Megan) and Angie Jensen (Preston Lawson); his sister Janice Leutzinger (Fred) of Des Moines, IA; his sisters-in-law, Nancy Taylor of Lincoln, NE and Janet Sorensen of Audubon, IA; and his close friends, Peggy Venteicher (Vernie), Linda Jensen, Marsha Jensen, Kim Glover (Jedidiah) and Deb Steinbach. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
