She was predeceased by: her parents, Warner and Helen; her husband John Wise; and her son John Wise. She is survived by: her daughter Jane Perdue of Omaha, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Andrew Perdue (Inga) of Lithuania, Hannah Perdue (Justin Neal) of Omaha, Nebraska, Ian Perdue of Omaha, Nebraska and Neve Perdue of Omaha, Nebraska; and her great grandchild Max Neal of Omaha, Nebraska..

Ruth decided years ago to donate her body for research at the University of Iowa.
