He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret "Maggie" Elsberry (Laursen); his grandparents, Virgil, Sally Elsberry, Chester and Marjorie Laursen; his uncles, Gerald Kallesen and Wayne Elsberry; and his aunt Janice Hartwig (Loren).
He is survived by: his father Merle Elsberry (Leah Peters) of Atlantic, IA; his sisters, Margie Young (Todd) of Atlantic, IA and Marie Nelson (Jeff) of Elk Horn, IA; and his nieces and nephews, Emma Young, Ansleigh Johnson (Austin), Mia Nelson, Zoe Nelson, Hannah Nelson, William Nelson, Cole Young and Joshua Nelson. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
Memorials may be directed to the family in honor of Michael and will be designated later to some of his favorite charitable organizations and hobbies.
