She is survived by: her children, Chevonne Karol (Jason), Dessa Goodlett (Wesley), Carl "CJ" James Soglin and Roy Wayne Lowder II; and her grandchildren, Jordan Thomas, Alexander Evans, Quintin Soglin, Izabelle Karol, Elijah Karol, Phoenix Karol, Evelyn Karol, Hayden Karol, Amethyst Soglin, James Soglin, Natasha Soglin and Aubrey Goodlett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for later designation to causes that were close to Mary Ellen's heart.
