He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry M. McCool and Irene M. McCool (Stevens); his former wife Betty Jean Petersen; his wife Elizabeth Mae Meckna; and his brothers, Malcolm McCool and Larry McCool.
He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Polacek (Shelby) of Shelby and Mary McCool (Atlantic) of Atlantic, Iowa; and his sister Marjorie Meyers of Denison, Iowa. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
