It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Marilyn Ruth Nelson of Atlantic, Iowa, who passed away on June 12, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Harold Baker and Mildred Baker (LaVerne Nelson); and her siblings, Richard, Russ and Susan Green.

She is survived by : her friend Pat Esbeck (Marilyn); her siblings, Charles Baker (Melody) of Tampa, FL, Joanne (Gary), Parker of Columbus, NE, Randy Baker (Kathy) of LeGrand, IA and Beverly Mundt (Larry) of Fort Worth, TX; her sister-in-law Barbara Baker of Greenfield, IA; her children, Cheri (Mike), Mahoney of Willow Spring, NC, Leland Nelson of Elk Horn, IA, Paul Nelson (Kim) of Dexter, IA and Nancy Williams (Dustin) of Lincoln, NE; her grandchildren, Holly (Ben Whittle), Mahoney, Samantha Mahoney (Roy Hughes), Cassie Nelson (Nathan Roebuck), Raini Williamson (Tyler), Cole Britton (Katrena) and Kailey Britton (Tyler Loew); and her great grandchildren, Noa, Anthony, Adalee, Harper, Elliot, Cooper, Alison, Mason and Layla. She is also survived by her cousins, nieces, nephews, coworkers and dear, friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 14th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home - Atlantic (1804 E 7th St, Atlantic, IA 50022). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 15th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Elk Horn Lutheran Church (4313 Main St, Elk Horn, IA 51531). A committal service was held on Saturday, June 15th 2024 from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM at the Elk Horn Lutheran Cemetery (4313 Main St, Elk Horn, IA 51531).

Memorials may be directed to the Marilyn Nelson Family, to be determined at a later date.
