She was predeceased by: her husband Harold Herman; her mother Theresa Nissen; her son Ron Vargas; her siblings, Joanne Filsinger and Keith Nissen; her nephew Brian Nelson; and her brothers-in-law, Danny Olson, Rocky Martin and Mick Filsinger.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Johnson (Clark) of Griswold and Gary Vargas (Jodi) of Tyler, Texas; her grandsons, Chad Johnson (Heidi Winger) of Atlantic and Matt Johnson (Amanda) of Scribner, Nebraska; her great grandchild Chet Johnson of Scribner; her siblings, Doris Olson of Leon, Terri Wilson (Dave) of Council Bluffs and Allan Nissen (Julie) of Exira, Iowa; her aunt Elna Nissen; and her cousins, Jerry Nissen (Sherri), Diane Nielsen (Rick) and Daryl Nissen (Tammy). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation to the Cass County Genealogical Society.
