With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Leo Garside of Atlantic, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Leo left this world on April 18, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Garside and Emma Garside (Chambers); his sister Lois Nelson; his parents-in-law, Woodrow and Beatrice Figgins; his daughter-in-law Amy Garside; his brothers-in-law, Robert Figgins, Tom Pope, Carl Nelson, Darrell Carlson and Robert Lehman; and his nephews, David, Craig Figgins and Donnie Ward.
He is survived by: his wife Elaine Garside (Figgins) of Atlantic; his sons, Bill Garside of Atlantic and Jimmy Garside (Lori) of Atlantic; his siblings, Linda Carlson of Atlantic, Laurel Lehman of Adair, Lee Garside of Adair and Lyle Garside (Norma) of Exira; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Alex, Aaron, Jovi and Jewel; and his great grandchildren, Zain, Lidea, Owen, Elizabeth, Gavin, Madison, Clarrisa and Camron.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Atlantic Zion Lutheran Church (811 Oak St, Atlantic, IA 50022).
Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.
