It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura Smith (Atlantic, Iowa), born in Boissevain, Manitoba, who passed away on March 9, 2020, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Katherine James (Ross) and Charles James; her foster parents, John Farley and Ethel Farley; her husband Wayne Smith; her children, Russell James Smith and Darlene Kay Smith; her siblings, Anita Moore, Ruth, Lafe, Raymond and Frank James; her half-siblings, Mamie, Evelyn Campbell, Williard and Louis Campbell; her daughter-in-law Arletta Smith (Lynn); and her great grandchild Kooper Lohoff.
She is survived by: her children, Gail Lohoff (Mike Doyle) and John Smith of Atlantic; her grandchildren, Jason Lohoff (Amy), Tara Wheeler (Colby), Adam Lohoff (Andrea), Jeremiah Smith (Sarah) and Angelic Kelly (Michael); and her brother-in-law Ronald Smith (Alice). She is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren.
