John Weppler Obituary
It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved John Weppler of Atlantic, Iowa, who passed away at the age of 88, on February 14, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his mother Nora May Weppler (Carroll); his parents-in-law, Roy and Irene Martens; his former wife Marcella Weppler; and his brothers-in-law, Roger Martens and Richard Martens.
He is survived by: his children, Vickie Retallic (Dale) of Atlantic, Susan Hoeck (Norm) of Atlantic, Julie Gussow (Craig) of Allen, Texas, Kenneth Weppler (Heather Link) of Lewis and Kirk Weppler (Suzan) of Portland, Oregon; his grandchildren, Justin, Troy Retallic (Laura), Jordan (Rachel), Sydney, Becca Weppler and Jennifer Gussow; his great grandchildren, David, Sophia, Colton and Ethan Retallic; his sister Barbara Kunze (Dick) of Atlantic; and his sister-in-law Judy Martens of Lewis, Iowa. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Roland Funeral Home (204 E 5th St, Atlantic, IA 50022). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Lewis United Congregational Methodist Church (401 1st St, Lewis, IA 51544). The military honors will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at the Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation to the Lewis United Congregational Methodist Church, the Lewis Fire Department and the Lewis Community Center.
