Janet Dianne left this world on July 28, 2024 at the age of 90, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Shields and Henrietta Shields (Cooney); her husband Max Petersen; her daughter Diane Smith (Petersen); and her grandsons, Scott Petersen and Greg Huddleston.
She is survived by: her sons, Steven Petersen (Sherri) of Elk Horn, NE and Marty Petersen (Marcy Dorsey) of Atlantic, Iowa; her son-in-law Kenn Smith of Bella Vista, AR; and her brothers, Jerry Shields of Carroll, IA and Tom Shields of San Marcos, CA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson arriving soon; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be directed to the Janet Petersen Family to be designated to many of her local organizations and charities.
