She was predeceased by: her parents, Holger Karstensen and Esther Karstensen (Bishop); her parents-in-law, Lawrence and Irene Nelson; and her siblings-in-law, Fred Sturdevant, Vera McDermott (Mac) and Peggy Nelson.
She is survived by: her husband Robert L. Nelson of Atlantic; her children, Steven R. Nelson (Tammie) of Marne, Sandy Sothman of Atlantic and Shellie Anderson (Rob) of St. Peters, MO; her grandchildren, Caleb Nelson (Kilee) of Greenfield, Luke Nelson (Denise Walker) of Marne, Hannah Nelson (Caleb Affuso) of Denver, CO, Sara Jensen (Nate) of Huxley, Abby Spann (Colby) of Des Moines, Zach Anderson (Courtney Chapman) of St. Peters, MO and Josh Anderson (Megan Gruendler) of Cottleville, MO; her sister Ethel Sturdevant of Grimes; and her brother-in-law Dale Nelson of Ankeny. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
