She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter E. Petersen and Tillie M. Petersen; her husband James; her siblings, Vernon Petersen (Alice), Leland Smidt and Ruth Hansen (Orville); and her siblings-in-law, Lawrence Kemp (Maxine) and Velma Kemp.
She is survived by: her daughters, Julie Gade (Kent) of Atlantic, Donna Duggan (Dan) of Omaha and Kim Gaul (Mike) of Ames; her grandchildren, Holly Swartz (Brian) of Charlotte, NC, Jay Simms (Mary) of Council Bluffs, Michael Duggan (Stephanie) of Ham Lake, MN and Megan Caraveo (Randy) of Ankeny; her stepgrandchildren, Shana Elwood (Kevin) of Treynor and Levi Gade of Elliott; and her brother-in-law John Kemp of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren.
