With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Donna Mae Karwal of Atlantic, Iowa, who passed away on April 19, 2025 at the age of 88. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Donna Mae Karwal to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Paulsen and Erma Paulsen (Petersen); her husband Bill; and her brothers, Gene Paulsen, Norman Paulsen and Donald Paulsen of Kimballton.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Williams (Bryan) of Aledo, TX and Dr. Mark Karwal (Laura) of Iowa City, IA; her grandchildren, Christopher Williams, Amanda Williams, Calley Williams, Lucas Karwal and Matthew Karwal; her great grandchildren, Margaret, Benjamin and Anna; and her cousins, Don Matthews and Bob Matthews.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (1011 E 13th St, Atlantic, IA 50022). A reception was held on Wednesday, April 23rd 2025 from 10:45 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to "The Bridge Fund at Heritage House" in memory of Donna for the wonderful care she received from them.
