He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Sonntag and Isabelle Sonntag (Micheals); and his siblings, Richard, Gerald, David and Ellen Niedzielski.
He is survived by: his wife Lois; his children, Glen Sonntag (Deb) of Atlantic, Gary Sonntag (Rachelle) of Urbandale, IA, Michelle Meinecke (George) of Cumming, IA and Julie Shryock (Mark) of Johnston, IA; his grandchildren, Erik Sonntag (Katrina), Anne Quist (Kyle), Adam Sonntag (Lisa), Austin Sonntag (Laena), Hillary Bump (Dan), Tyler Sonntag (Amy), Jordan Sonntag (Julia), Kevin Meinecke (Tori Norman), Katie Kettelkamp (Josh), Nick Comes (Jess) and Nate Comes (Dakotah); and his brother Marv Sonntag of Brayton, IA.
Memorials can be made in his name and will be designated at a later date and can be left or mailed to the funeral home at PO Box 523 - Atlantic, IA.
