He was predeceased by: his parents, Manvel Nelson and Lydia Nelson (Marcusen); his wife Linda A. Sorensen; his parents-in-law, John F. and Veneta Sorensen; and his great grandchild Harley Hollingsworth.
He is survived by: his children, Jill Corsbie (Wes) of Des Moines, IA, Jana Halstead of Greenville, MI, Jean Hinners (Kevin) of Elk Horn, IA and Jay (Shelli) of Atlantic; and his siblings, Martin Nelson (Shirley) of Elk Horn, IA, Lyle Nelson (Dorothy) of Elk Horn, IA, Gary Nelson (Sherry) of San Marco, TX and Janis Fajen (Larry) of Elk Horn, IA. He is also survived by nine nieces and nephews and many friends and extended family.
