He was predeceased by: his parents, James Ellingson and Ada Ellingson (Johnson); his parents-in-law, Carl and Annastia Schmoll; his wife Ole; his son Chuck; his brother Sylvan; his sister-in-law Pat; his brother Clifton; and his sister-in-law Yvonne Ellingson.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Leonard (Rhett) of Ida Grove, Jim Ellingson (Neala) and Steve Ellingson of Des Moines; his daughter-in-law Connie Ellingson of Ames; his grandchildren, Shelly Herron (Matt), AJ Ellingson (Tara), Eric Ellingson, Ashley Graber (Matt) and Kelsey Leonard; his great grandchildren, Anna Ole and Macie Marie Ellingson; his brother Byron Ellingson of Excelsior, Minnesota; and his sisters-in-law, Erma Ellingson, Rosie Lanoue, Carlene Maxwell and Charlotte Friedrichs (Jack). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials will be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Iowa Donor Network. Memorials may be made out to the family and mailed to Hockenberry Funeral Home, 1804 E. 7th St., Atlantic, IA 50022.
