He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Hayes and Lola Hayes (Howie); his brothers, Lyle, Gene, Clive and Thomas Hayes; and his grandson Brandon Campbell.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Hooten of Patrick's Church; his children, Michael Hayes (Lori) of Atlantic, IA, David Hayes (Christine) of Boure End, England, Martin Hayes (Nita) of Monks Corner, SC and Teresa Campbell (Gary) of Hot Springs, SD; his grandchildren, Dustin Hayes (Jodie), Ashley Coffman (Michael), Jenny Hayes, Heather Hayes, Max Hayes, Matthew Campbell (Betty), Anne Brown (Jeffrey), Emily Johnson (Pete), Daniel Campbell, Rebecca Howard (Chris), Antone Campbell, Amii Nolan, Cassie Johnson (Adam), Zachary Hayes, Kaila Stoneham (Will) and Adrian Still (Travis); and his sister Donna Copic. He is also survived by 25 great grandchildren.
