She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Nels Jacobsen and Johanne Jacobsen (Laugesen); her children, Deb Smith (Steve Reisz) of Panama, IA, Chuck Smith of Atlantic and Jeff Smith of Atlantic; her grandchildren, Traci Smith (Lisa) of Atlantic, IA, Donavan Waterman (Nichole) of Atlantic, IA, Zach Smith (Irania) of Iowa City, IA, Sierra Smith and Evan Smith of Griswold, IA; her great grandchildren, Jennifer McCarty (Jerry) of LaCygne, KS, Kristen Young (Brad) of Drexel, MO, Cain Stuart of Atlantic, Joshua of Atlantic, Jacob of Atlantic, Jarrit of Atlantic, Jaci of Atlantic and Joseph Smith of Atlantic; her great great grandchildren, Lilah of LaCygne, KS, Kiersten of LaCygne, KS, Jillian McCarty of LaCygne, KS, Alicen of Drexel, MO, Drake of Drexel, MO and Dakota Young of Drexel, MO; her sisters-in-law, Janis Petersen (Richard) of Omaha, NE, Nancy Matthew of Council Bluffs, IA and Candy Narmi (Jon) of Council Bluffs, IA; her husband Rev. Charles Smith, Jr.; her parents-in-law, Charles and Viola Smith; her sisters, Anne Blaney (Sheryl), Virginia Grossman, Lorraine Mitchell (Pete), June Thomas (Tommy) and Norma Messersmith; her brother-in-law Bill Kiger (Caroline); and also Janis. She was also cherished by her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the First Baptist Church in Atlantic, Iowa.
