He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ellen; his son Roderick Knop; his parents, Otto Knop and Lena Knop; his parents-in-law, Curtis W. Masteller and Elsie Masteller; his brother Donald Knop; and his siblings-in-law, Marie Knop, Virginia Knop, Curtis C. Masteller and Gerald Wollenhaupt.
He is survived by: his pets, Lady and Freckles; his children, Fred Knop (Janine) of Atlantic, IA, Kay Ogren (Chuck) of Marcus, IA and Sandra Knop of Atlantic, IA; his grandchildren, Brittney Roorda (Adam), Louise, Brighton, Celeste Richardson (Adrian) and Garrett Ogren (Abbi); his great grandchildren, Claire Roorda, Nathan Roorda, Jocelyn Richardson and Roman Richardson; his brother Cecil Knop of Tucson, AZ; his sisters-in-law, Barbara Wollenhaupt and Rosie Masteller; and his friend Deb Sonntag. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
