It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Otmar Bierl of Arcadia, Iowa, who passed away on December 8, 2021, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Bierl and Philomena Bierl (Loxterkamp); his wife Elaine Koster; and his sisters, Veronica Kemper (Frank), Irene Bueltel (Louie), Pauline Bierl and Dorothy Bueltel (Leo).
He is survived by: his children, Jan Dietzenbach (Don) of Evergreen, CO, Leon Bierl (Alyce) of Arcadia, Ron Bierl (Sharon) of Arcadia and Nadine Irlmeier (Dave) of Manning; his grandchildren, Michael Dietzenbach, Paul Dietzenbach, Nicky Bierl, Wes Bierl (Alicia), Matt Bierl (Kelly), Amy Wiederin (Tom), Rachel Kitt (Scott), Mike Bierl (Lindsey), Katie Crichton (Trevor), Jenny Irlmeier, Chad Irlmeier (Cynthia), Brian Irlmeier, Jeff Bierl (Bri), Kerry Lengeling (Mike) and Nick Bierl (Kelsey Clausen); his parents-in-law, Urban, Pat Koster, Anita, Duane Hannasch, Myrna, Van Schmidt, Alice Thielen, Floyd, Terry Koster, Edgar, Delores Koster, Pearl, Irvin Staiert, Alma, Ivan Schroeder, Helen Bertrand, Joe and Jean Koster; his children, Dale Koster (Joyce) of Arcadia, Norma Jean, Romaine Ludwig and Frank Thielen; and also, Clem and Hazel Koster.
