He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Bauer and Alita Bauer (Stangl); his grandson Elon Bauer; his great grandchild Braelynn Bauer; his brothers, Marlin Bauer, Dennis Bauer (Judy) and Jim Bauer; his parents-in-law, Joe and Rita Becker; his siblings-in-law, Bonita Birch, Lois Cole (Carroll) and Ralph Beyerink; and his nephews, John Birch, Darrin Riesberg and Jeremy Bauer.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Becker of Arcadia; his sons, William of Arcadia, Brian of Carroll, Robert (Jenny) of Mt. Carmel, Benjamin of Carroll, Michael of Carroll, Barry (Misty) of Chariton, Kelly (Heather) of Carroll and Keith (Stacy) of Carroll; his siblings, Lois Beyerink of Carroll, Diane Seidl (Dan) of Coon Rapids and Duane Bauer (Cindy) of Dedham; and his siblings-in-law, Judy Bauer of Emmetsburg, Mary Breidinger (Bill) of Ames, Doris Kinkade of Templeton, Marg Riesberg (John) of Carroll, Donna Riesberg (Bob) of Arcadia, Jim Becker of Waterloo, Joe Becker of Coon Rapids and Bill Becker of Paton. He is also survived by 31 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other extended relatives.
